Scripture: 1John 1:4 & 2 Corinthians 4:4

This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all. (1 John 1:5 NIV)

The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. For what we preach is not ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, and ourselves as your servants for Jesus’ sake. For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of God’s glory displayed in the face of Christ. (2 Corinthians 4:4-6 NIV)

Observation: These verses are clearly stating that God is light and there is no darkness in Him at all!!! The Gospel of peace, which represents light and life must be preached for light to expose darkness!! For darkness to be expelled light must go forth in the darkness. But what is light and what is darkness? According to dictionary.com light is: An illuminating agent or source, as the sun, a lamp, or a beacon. Darkness: is the absence of light or lack of knowledge or enlightenment.
Darkness, or lack of light was upon the face of the earth until God spoke and said “Let their be light, and there was light and He said it was good…” When God Declared light be, it was and light exposed the darkness!! People all around the world are walking in darkness because the light of the living Gospel has not yet been preached to them to expose the darkness and for the truth to be revealed to them by the Spirit of truth!!!

Application: As believers we have the light of light dwelling on the inside of us and wherever we go light goes and darkness cannot be where light is!!! The bible says that we are the light of the world and the salt of the earth. The bible also says that we live in the world, but are not of the world…so that means in the realm of the spirit and in the natural we have a choice to let our light shine and to expose the darkness. The job of salt is to preserve the decaying process of an item… We are to be salt in this earth, to preserve the decaying process of the world. I believe the more conscious we are of the light that shines forth out of us we will see more darkness exposed, more lives changed, more freedom, more miracles….because when we recognize what we have, we can walk confidently into darkness knowing that our light will shine bright and expel the darkness!!!

Prayer: Father I thank you that Your Word is true and because Your Word is true we have a solid rock to stand on!!! I thank you that in you there is no darkness, you are completely light and your light dwells on the inside of me. Your light shines in the darkness and expels all traces of darkness. so where ever I go, I represent the kingdom of light!!! Father I ask that you would daily remind me of Your glory that shines in me and through me…it’s your glory God that people need to know…your goodness, your mercy, your grace, your love, your compassion, your healing touch, your provision….all of your who are is represented in your glory…so let the light of your glory shine on me to represent your kingdom of light and to break the power of darkness that the enemy wants people walking in. I declare these things in the mighty name of Jesus!! Amen, so be it!!!
