Scripture: Ruth 2:11-13
11And Boaz said to her, I have been made fully aware of all you have done for your mother-in-law since the death of your husband, and how you have left your father and mother and the land of your birth and have come to a people unknown to you before.
12The Lord recompense you for what you have done, and a full reward be given you by the Lord, the God of Israel, under Whose wings you have come to take refuge!
13Then she said, Let me find favor in your sight, my lord. For you have comforted me and have spoken to the heart of your maidservant, though I am not as one of your maidservants.
Ruth had completely put her life in the hands of the Lord… she trusted that He would take care of her and her former mother in law. She had an opportunity to go to her home country after the death of her husband, back to her parents and their “gods” but she chose to stay faithful to Naomi despite Naomi’s plead for her to move on with her life. She declared that she would stay by Naomi’s side until death. So they traveled together back to Naomi’s home land. As both women continued to trust the Lord and for His favor to provide for them in every area, He did just that. But not only what they needed, but God did exceedingly above their needs and restored back to Ruth what had been taken, which was her husbands life. She remarried Boaz who became the next of kin to Naomi’s land. Ruth did not have children with her first husband who had died and the Lord blessed Ruth and Boaz with a son, who became the father of Jesse, who was the father of David and ended up being in the lineage of Jesus Christ. This all occurred because she followed her heart in remaining by Naomi no matter what. Ruth was a woman of strength, courage, honor and integrity. She had a confident trust in the Lord that caused her to walk into supernatural favor bringing complete restoration to her and Naomi’s life and was fully reward for her obedience.
We as people will come into a situation some time in our life that looks as if there is no way that any good can come from it. But, when we decide to take refuge in the hands of the Lord, He takes the ugly situations, disappointments, failures, what the enemy has stolen, where destruction stuck up its ugly face, and turns what the enemy had intended for harm into a beautiful story of restoration, redemption and cause us to receive a greater reward that we could have ever hoped for. So, like Ruth… she remained faithful to her former mother in law who had no one else to care for her and trusted the Lord. I encourage us all to remain fixed and stable under the shadow of the Almighty, which Psalm 91 describes. When we continually keep our eyes fixed on the Lord and His ability to bring restoration, deliverance and beauty from the ashes…He will do so and His glory will be both manifested and recognized in our lives!!
Father I ask in the mighty name of Jesus that You would stretch out Your hand upon our situations. Jesus, your name is above every other name, and you have given us authority to use your name in every situation to cause victory, deliverance and restoration to come to pass. Father just as You were with Ruth and in her situation, you caused her to walk in supernatural favor and showed Your loving kindness upon her, I thank you that we as your children walk in supernatural favor because of what Jesus did and you have poured out Your loving kindness and mercy toward us! You promised to never leave or forsake us, so we are never walking out our situation alone. I thank you for your comfort, peace, joy and strength through every circumstance that we walk through, knowing that what ever battle it is… it belongs to you, and because the battle belongs to you the battle is won! Thank you Lord for the victory, your complete restoration, recompensing your children because of your unfailing love!! I call these things so in the precious, mighty name of Jesus! Amen, so be it according to Your word!!
