Scripture: 1 John 4:7

Beloved, let us love one another, for love is (springs) from God; and he who loves [his fellowmen] is begotten (born) of God and is coming [progressively] to know and understand God [to perceive and recognize and get a better and clearer knowledge of Him”

Real “Agape” love is from God.. it is an unconditional love that never fails, never gives up, never runs out and never runs dry. When the Spirit of the Living God comes to live on the inside of a believer the “Agape” kind of love has been shed abroad inside the heart of the believer. So when John says here ” Beloved, let us love one another, for love is (springs) from God…” He is not just saying love people in your own ability, your own strength and to the best of your human knowledge and to your limitations. But he is saying agape love one another, because when you received the love of God for you, that love is now able to flow through you to love people in the same way God does. That same unconditional love, love that is not contingent based on if others love you back, or treat you well or fair is able to flow through you to others. You are able to draw from the well of life that never runs dry.

Love is absolutely a choice… it is a choice to receive the love of God and it is a choice to allow the love of God to flow in you… bringing healing, restoration, wholeness, peace, joy, completeness and then the ability to love people with that same kind of  love. My Brazilian best friend is marrying the love of her life today and as they step into marriage they are going to have to rely on the “Agape” God kind of love… not the human love that fails… but Gods love that never fails and always sees the best in the other person. As they step into covenant with each other and with God, it is the true love of God that will cause them to have a successful, long lasting and exciting marriage! I encourage all of us to continue to allow the love of God to work in our heart…we will never be perfect in loving the same way God does, but we can love people with the “Agape” love, because that is the unconditional love that has been shed abroad in our heart.

Father I ask in the name of Jesus that you would open the eyes of our heart, give us revelation light of your love that has been shed abroad in our hearts as believers. Father you love unconditionally.. your love never fails, and because your love never fails towards us, that love in us will cause us to love like you. I thank you for your grace that is sufficient and I thank you for your heart of compassion in us for the lost… I thank you that we are able to love the unloveaable, because of your love, not our love! You are so faithful Lord and the thank you for your ability through us to be successful in our daily relationships… loving people like you do! Amen!!
